Description

Photograph of launching of the Roanoke at the Arthur Sewall and Co. shipyard in Bath. This vessel was the largest wooden square-rigger built in the U.S.

The ship had a wooden hull, weighed 3,539 gross tons, with a register length of 311.2 feet.

She was owned by her builders and used in trade around Cape Horn until burning at New Caledonia, August 10, 1905.
